Did you know that Employee Retention is one of the top business priorities for nearly 50% of Organisations in Ireland? *[HR Barometer 8.2]
What is the meaning of Employee Retention?
Employee retention is defined as an Organisation’s ability to hold on to its Employees. It refers to the strategies an Organisation develops to mitigate Employee turnover risks and the processes it puts in place to increase retention of top talent.
According to the Adare HR Barometer Series 8.2 research, the average turnover in Irish Organisations in 2024 is 10.5% with an average cost of €9,461 to replace an Employee, offering improved benefits, and enhanced total reward can boost employee satisfaction, but these initiatives are often infrequent, typically annual, and their impact tends to be short-lived. To really stand apart from competitors, Organisations will need to consider agile retention strategies that adapt to future business needs to counteract future risks at the earliest opportunity.
